Canadian National Railroad Maintenance Vehicle Pulls into Path of SUV South of Du Quoin

This is the scene of a mid-morning accident on Rt. 51 at the intersection of Rt. 14 Thursday. A Canadian National Railroad track maintenance truck driven by Travis Schultz of Dongola was eastbound on Green's Market Road at the intersection of Rt. 51. The truck stopped at the stop sign, but then pulled out in front of a southbound car driven by Kristen Wilson of Du Quoin. Schultz was transported to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale by ambulance. Wilson was taken to the same hospital by her father. There injuries were minor, Chief of Police Jamie Ellermeyer said.
