Obituary: Kathy Jo Spivey

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kathy Jo Spivey was born on March 5, 1957, in Harrisburg to Arvetta Barnard and Billy Joe Spivey. As a child, she spent time growing up in Southern Illinois, Texas and Northern Illinois. On April 11, 1977, she married Larry Gerald Robinson. From this union of 35 years came one son, Christopher Keith Robinson, born on Aug. 17, 1978.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and all of her grandparents. In addition to a husband and son, she is survived by both of her brothers, Randy Spivey and Billy Joe Spivey Junior; all of her nieces, Valerie Spivey, Jessica Spivey, LeAnn Spivey and Allison Spivey; and two grandchildren, Rose and Ruie Robinson.

Over the years Kathy served the community as a school bus driver and as a registered nurse. Through this work she came to know many of the youth and elderly of Hardin, Pope, and Saline counties. When not working, she found enjoyment gardening and spending time with family on the farm.

On Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, she passed from this life while at home due to a heart attack. Her loving presence will be sorely missed by family and friends.
