Obituary: Shirley Marie Denton

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Shirley Marie Denton, 72, of Harrisburg, passed away at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at her residence in Harrisburg.

Shirley was born on June 28, 1939, in Harrisburg to the late Arthur Leslie and Eveli (Morris) Owen. She was formerly a cook at Saline Care Center.

Shirley is survived by a son, Leslie Denton and wife Sherry of Harrisburg; son, Teddy Ray Denton of California; four grandchildren, Stephanie Plumlee and husband Derak of Galatia, James Michael Denton of Harrisburg, Amanda Haldiman and husband Zack of Crossville, Tennessee, and Hosia Keith and wife Brooke of Harrisburg; eight great-grandchildren, Isaiah Keith, Cierra Keith and Brandon Keith of Harrisburg, Nicholas Haldiman and Aidan Haldiman of Crossville, Tenn., Zackery Plumlee and Isiah Plumlee of Galatia and Lillie Denton of California; sister-in-law, Eunice Owen of Goodrich, Texas; special friend, Randall Wayne Fulkerson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Lee Denton; brother, Donald Ray Owen; brother, Leslie Arthur "Bo" Owen; sister, Nina Rose McGhee; sister, Helen Louise Smith; and sister, Zela Ann Owen.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Cremation will follow after the visitation. Condolences may be sent to the family through the Obituary Page at the Internet site www.reedfuneralchapel.com.
