Obituary: Morgan Dale Mattingley Sr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Morgan Dale Mattingley Sr., 80, 600 Granger St., Harrisburg, died 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Services will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born on June 29, 1931, in Somerset to the late Logan Mattingley and Audie (Gibbs) Towery.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a lifelong concrete finisher.

He is survived by the mother of his four children, Betty Gay; two sons, Dale Mattingley Jr. of Eldorado and James Mattingley of Harrisburg; two daughters, Ann (Lyndell) Walker of Galatia and Nancey (Warren) Stricklin of Harrisburg; a sister, Carley Murphin of Tempe, Ariz.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Logan Mattingley, Audie Towery and Freeman Towery; and three siblings, J.A. Mattingley, Waldo Mattingley and Ruby Mattingley.
