Obituary: Letha Law

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Letha M. Law, 89, of Galatia, passed away at 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at the Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1921, in Eldorado to the late William "Earl" and Ora (Oglesby) Miner. Letha was married to Stewart Law on June 6, 1939, in Benton, Ky., and he preceded on April 17, 1965.

She was employed as an office manager by La Beau Brothers-GMC Truck Dealer in Kankakee for 16 years and also Rising Motors sales-Ford Mercury Dealer in Momence for 17 years. Letha was a member of the Galatia United Methodist Church where she played the piano and was a treasurer at the church for several years. She was also a member of the Kankakee Credit women&#39;s club. She previously lived in Momence, Kankakee and Bradley before moving back to Galatia in 1988.

Surviving is a son, Keith (Terry) Law of Mount Vernon; granddaughter Erin (Peter) Magnuson of Clarendon Hills; two great-grandchildren, Stewart and Elinda; a brother, Jim Dale (Shirley) Miner of Chebanse; and a sister Joann Tison of Bradley.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; and a brother and sister-in-law, William Earl and Neva Miner.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday Aug. 5, 2011, at the funeral home. The Dr. Harrison Peyton will officiate with burial in Sunset Hill cemetery in Harrisburg. Memorials to the Galatia United Methodist Church.
