Obituary: Joyce Hale
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Joyce Hale, 81, of Harrisburg, went home to be with the Jesus at 8:05 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.
She was born on March 20, 1930, in Sullivan, Ind., to the late Jesse and Geneva (Ransford) Boone. On Dec. 3, 1948, she married Samuel Hale and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2007.
Joyce was a homemaker; she attended the Eldorado Church of God. Joyce was a member of the Harrisburg Medical Center Auxiliary, she volunteered for the Salvation Army at Eldorado. She loved to knit, sew, paint, crochet, play the piano and arrange flowers. Samuel and Joyce pastored several churches in Marion. As a minister's wife, Joyce played piano for many church services. During her years at Fountainview, she enjoyed playing piano for the many residents and staff.
Surviving family members include four children, Judy Horton and husband David of Harrisburg, Steve Hale and wife Mitzi of Eldorado, Janet Lewis and husband Greg of Harrisburg and Jennifer White of Eldorado; 10 grandchildren, Samantha Printup and husband Alfred of Cleveland, Tenn., Shane Hale and wife Sarah of Harrisburg, Emily Lambert and husband Jamie of Eldorado, Brody Hale of Eldorado, Matthew Lewis and wife Brett of Harrisburg, Michelle Lewis of Harrisburg, Dianne Lewis of Harrisburg, Daniel Lewis of Harrisburg, Seth White of Eldorado and Nathan White of Eldorado; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Kenyon Printup of Cleveland, Tenn., and Keaton and Kruze Lambert of Eldorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Samuel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Bro. David Mays will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Emily Lambert Cancer Fund.
