Obituary: Brenda 'Jo' Penrod

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Brenda "Jo" Penrod, 63, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away at 11:13 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

She was born on March 25, 1948, in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Delmar and Brennis (Price) DeVar. Mrs. Penrod was a 1966 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Brenda married Stan Penrod on Aug. 17, 1968 in Muddy, and he survives.

Mrs. Penrod was an active member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna and had served on the kitchen committee and helped with Vacation Bible School on many occasions. She was a volunteer at the Vienna Ministerial Christian Alliance Thrift Store. Brenda was also a member of the Wild Turkey Foundation and the Heartland Mule Riders Association. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, ATV and motorcycle riding, mule riding and spending time with her family. Brenda was a loving and caring person who cared about everyone and she will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Stan Penrod of Vienna; a son, Clayton and his wife Courtney Penrod of Metropolis; two sisters, Judy Henshaw of Norris City and Delma DeVar of Harrisburg; a sister-in-law, Trish and Wardell McNichols of Vienna; a brother-in-law, Gary and Christine Angelly of Unionville; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Brenda was also anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild, a granddaughter expected in October.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with Pastor Russ Kreuter officiating. Interment will follow at Big Ridge Cemetery in Harrisburg. Family will receive friends at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
