Sadie Mae Kandas

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Sadie Mae Kandas, 75, of Carmi, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.

She was born May 30, 1935, in Crossville, Tenn., the daughter of William Thomas Boston and Dolly (Helton) Boston.

She was a homemaker and member of the Faith Tabernacle Church in Carmi. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and being with her family.

Survivors include two sons, William Henry Richardson Jr. and wife Mary of Grayville and Paul Joseph Kandas of Carmi; two daughters, Virginia Carol Mix of Galatia and Laura Nicole Goemaat and husband John of Carmi; brother, Joe Boston and wife Carolyn of Omaha; brother-in-law, Larry Galbraith of Taylor, Mich.; sister, Pastor Helen Whitley of Carmi; half-sister, Brenda Bilbry of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, Cathianne Tucker, Heather Wood, Sabrina Rupe, Joseph Galbraith, Jennifer Galbraith, William Carpenter, Sarah Richardson, Tyler Goemaat, Natalie Goemaat, Ian Goemaat and Marshall Kandas; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara Sue Galbraith; sister, Mary Boston; two brothers, Oscar Sonny Boston and Gaither Boston; and grandson, Johnathon Richardson.

Visitation was 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Funeral was 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel with burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel.
