Robert 'Bob' Newcomb

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert "Bob" Newcomb, 59, of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:12 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, at his residence.

Robert was born on Jan. 3, 1952, in Harrisburg to the late Marion and Louise (Hughes) Newcomb. He married Debbie Murphy on June 4, 1983, and she survives in Harrisburg.

He was a truck driver and an Army veteran during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife Debbie, he is survived by two daughters, Tamara (Newcomb) Cook and Amy (Boehrnsen) and husband Dave Munsell, both of Harrisburg; four sisters, Evelyn and husband Duane Andreasen of Creal Springs; Darlene and husband Joe Gogue of Murphysboro; Vicki Newcomb of Harrisburg; and Catherine Genet of Decatur; one brother, Deon Newcomb of Carterville; three grandchildren, Baily Cook, Addy Jones and Ava Molinarolo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Kenneth Blumenstock will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery, with Veterans Rites by the Harrisburg and Carrier Mills American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
