</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[JoAnn May DeMario, 73, a resident of Brookstone Estates, Harrisburg, passed away 4:27 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Select Specialty Care In Evansville, Ind.
She was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Ironwood, Mich., the daughter of the late Clyde and Virginia Smith Jaresky. She was married to Donald James DeMario on Nov. 1, 1958, in Ironwood, Mich., and he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1976.
During their years together they lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, Vermont, Pennsylvania and Rosiclare while traveling with the Forest Service. She was a homemaker whose life was dedicated to raising and enjoying her children. JoAnn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg. She also cared for many foster children, was active in Girl Scouts and was involved in many church activities.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela and Terry Kingston of Harrisburg; two sons, Donald and Kathy DeMario of Harrisburg and Randall and Jennifer DeMario of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren, Michael Kingston of Harrisburg, Gregory DeMario of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Blake DeMario of Harrisburg and Marissa and Anthony DeMario of Fort Collins, Colo; and one great-grandson, Grant DeMario of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg with Pastor David Estep and the Rev. G. E. Coultas officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood, Mich. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. The J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
