Steven E. Smothers Sr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Steven E. Smothers Sr., 53, of Eldorado, died 6:51 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Steve was an owner with his father, Kenneth Smothers in S & S Construction.

He was born April 2, 1957, in Joliet to Kenneth E. Smothers and Donna K. (Reynolds) Smothers Brickey.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven E. and Ashleigh Smothers Jr. of Harrisburg, Michael and Courtney Smothers of Harrisburg and Bryan Smothers and his friend, Danielle Tanner of Harrisburg; father and stepmother, Ken and Dallas Smothers of Harrisburg; mother, Donna K. Brickey of Eldorado; six grandchildren, Kinzleigh Smothers, Maddux Smothers, Madison Smothers, Trenton Smothers, Hayden Smothers and Gabriel Smothers of Harrisburg; sister, Cynthia Smothers-Jones of Harrisburg; brother, David Alan Smothers and his friend, Frieda of Harrisburg; former wife and longtime companion, Vicki Smothers of Eldorado; stepsister, Kendra (Troy) Hafford of Atlanta, Ga; stepbrother, Dakota Elam of Harrisburg; and several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg.
