Ruth B. Mershimer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ruth B. Mershimer, 98, longtime resident of Equality, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, in the Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.

Ruth was born in Equality on March 20, 1912, to the late George and Virgie (Colbert) Blackman. She was married to Bill Mershimer, who preceded her in death.

Ruth had worked many years in and around Equality doing many things helping people. Her husband Bill and she moved to Springfield for many years while he was employed with state before retirement. She was a faithful member of the Equality Methodist Church.

She is only survived by a couple of cousins and a special care giver, Bernie Emery of Equality.

Services for Ruth will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the Equality Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Allison officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. to funeral time. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery outside of Equality next to her husband.

Arrangements being conducted through the Earl Jones Funeral Home in Equality.
