Prep Baseball: Eldorado stumbles to start BDC play

Eldorado dropped to 2-7 overall and 0-4 in Black Diamond Conference play with losses to conclude the week at Edwards County and Fairfield.

The Eagles dropped an 8-2 contest in Game 1 to Edwards County and followed that up with aa 4-3 loss to the Lions.

In Game 1 Parker Price took the loss on the mound, working two innings and allowing five runs (three earned) on just one hit, while striking out four and walking two.

The Eagles used Trevor Milligan and Ryne Cox in relief, where the two combined to give up three runs (two earned) on four hits.

At the plate, Price was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, while Anderson Woolcott was 1-for-2.

In the Game 2 loss, the Eagles' rally came up short, despite EHS scoring a run in the seventh inning.

Eldorado had three hits on the day as Price was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a run scored, while Dylan Vaughn was 1-for-2 with a walk.

Jake Phelps and Eli Ralson each scored a run for the Eagles.

Woolcott took the loss on the mound, working seven innings and allowing four runs on four hits, while striking out nine and walking three.

Eldorado was shut out 5-0 and lost 14-1 in two games against Fairfield Friday.

The lone hit on the day belonged to Price (1-for-3), while the junior took the loss on the mound, giving up four runs (all unearned) on two hits, while striking out six and walking three.

Milligan came on in relief and gave up one run on three hits, while striking out one per two innings.

The Eagles used five pitchers against the Mules as Woolcott got the start and went three innings. He allowed four runs on four hits, while striking out five.

Milligan, Cox, Vaughn and Steven Doggett also saw mound time.

Chase Kittinger scored the lone run for Eldorado in the leadoff spot, going 1-for-2. Price and Phelps each went 1-for-3.

Eldorado is at Hamilton County Tuesday, followed by a home game with the Foxes Thursday. The Eagles will then close out the week in a home game with Gallatin County at the EHS Sports Complex, starting at 4:30 p.m.
