Mary Coates

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Coates, 88, a resident of Carrier Mills Nursing Home, died 2:05 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at her residence.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Keith Bunfill officiating. Burial will be in Little Saline Cemetery, Stonefort. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born on May 29, 1922, in Stonefort to the late Ray and Edith (Martin) Parks. She was married to Wallace "Buster" Edmonds, who preceded her in death. She then married Red Coates, and he also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Stonefort Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Dan and Debra Edmonds of Naples, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and two sisters, Zenobia Hooven and Mildred Cobb.
