Guylene Perkins

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Guylene Perkins, 64, of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Galatia.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1945 in Eldorado, the daughter of Guy O. and Gleeda (Bush) Johnson. Guylene married Michael Lee Perkins on Dec. 24, 1963.

Guylene was a licensed practical nurse and had retired from Illinois Youth Center as librarian. She was a 4-H coordinator for Saline County and Saline County Home Extension and a member of the Saline Ridge Baptist Church.

Guylene is survived by her husband, Mike Perkins of Harrisburg; two sons, Travis and Kristin Perkins of Granger, Ind., and Casey Perkins of Harrisburg; one brother, Shane and Elsie Johnson of Harrisburg; brother-in-law, David Reeves, also of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Haley, Kelsey, Breanna, Chloe, Miley, Carson and Skylar Perkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Pat Reeves.

There will be a public graveside service for Guylene at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Pierson Cemetery near Harrisburg. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. The Rev. Bill Gholson will be officiating and Vickery Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Donations in Guylene&#39;s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society and envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
