Joe Harold Farquhar
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Joe Harold Farquhar, 81, formerly of Harrisburg and Grantsburg, died at 6:24 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at his home in Florissant, Mo.
He was born on July 28, 1929, in Grantsburg to Ira and Josie (Dunn) Farquhar. On Aug. 16, 1953, he married Patricia McDaniel, who survives. He was a member of the First Church of God and formerly employed by Sahara Coal Company.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Richard) Jenkins of Florissant, Mo.; a brother, Lowell Farquhar of Watseka; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, "Doll"; three brothers and a stillborn half-brother.
Graveside service and burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010 at Harrisburg Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Those wishing to attend may go directly to the cemetery on McHaney Road. The Rev. Randy Butler will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the First Church of God or Heartland Hospice. Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of the arrangements.
