</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dave McBride, 57, of Carbondale, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. John Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Blue Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Military rites will be held at the cemetery with VFW Post No. 1301, American Legion Post No. 147 and the National Guard conducting the services.
Dave was born on Oct. 5, 1952, in Peoria to Wesley Russell and Aline (McGarvey) McBride. After the deaths of his parents, he was adopted by Juanita McBride, who has also preceded him in death. He married Lili Hicks on May 14, 1977, in Harrisburg; together they shared 33 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife; children, Brandi Atkison of Marion, Brittani and Chris Kneezle of Benton, Shaun McBride of Carterville; grandchildren, Erika Atkinson, Gabe Atkison, Blake Kneezle, Carson Kneezle, Brayden McBride and one grandchild on the way; sister-in-law, Karen Lutwinski; and special friends, David and Rosemary Winters.
Dave was preceded by his parents; adoptive mother; brother, John Lutwinski; and sister, Mary Ann Williams.
Dave spent 29 years working as a press operator at the Maytag plant in Herrin and was a volunteer firefighter at the Lake of Egypt Fire Department. He spent six years serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and riding his motorcycle.
