Passenger in Posey Co. crash in critical, stable condition
The Posey County Sheriff's Office in Indiana has released the name and condition of the passenger in the crash Wednesday, Feb. 11 that took the life of Ronnie L. Ferguson, 45, Ridgway.
Shashin Natvarlal Patel of Owensboro, Ky., as of Thursday was in critical but stable condition at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., according to a release from the sheriff's office. Patel is general manager of Ridgway Quik Mart. Employees at Quik Mart Saturday said Patel has several broken bones including broken ribs and a laceration above his right eye and expectations are for his recovery.
Ferguson was driving west on state Route 62 between Sand Road and Raben Road west of Mount Vernon, Ind., when his vehicle crossed the center line and side swiped an eastbound semi tractor-trailer, according to a release from the Posey County Sheriff's Office. The car continued west, crossed the center line again and crashed into a semi tractor-trailer head on.
The driver of the semi tractor-trailer that was side swiped was Bryan Lingafelter of Wadesville, Ind., and he was not injured. The driver of the semi tractor-trailer that was struck head was Albert Denton, 54, Melber, Ky., and he suffered no life-threatening injuries.
