Faye Elizabeth Owen
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Faye Elizabeth Owen, 84, Harrisburg, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at her residence in Harrisburg.
She was born on Aug. 29, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., to the late Claude and Effie Mae (Goodman) Heilig. On Feb. 2, 1946, she married Gwenn Owen, and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1991. Faye was a faithful member and Sunday school teacher at the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg.
Surviving family members include her daughter, Vicki (Thomas) Fox of Carrier Mills; sister, Virginia Barrass of Carrier Mills; granddaughter, Angie (Larry) Henk of Harrisburg; three great-grandchildren, Anniston, Austin and Brandon; several nieces and nephews; special friend and caregivers, Ovalee, Marie, Nina, Cecilia and April.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Ward Heilig.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. David Estep will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
