Hilda L. Brantley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Hilda L. Brantley, 86, a longtime resident of Eldorado, passed away on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Ind., with her family by her side. Mrs. Brantley had resided the last five years in Sellersburg, Ind., with her daughter, Deanna (James) Evans.

Born in Eldorado on Dec. 12, 1923, to Jacob "Jake" and Iva Mae Hill, she married the late M.D. Brantley on June 22, 1941. She was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved cooking, camping and spending time with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, M.D. Brantley; infant son, Tommy D. Brantley; parents, Jacob and Iva Mae Hill; brother, Gene Hill; sister, Marguerite Towle; and niece, Marilyn Towle.

She is survived by her daughter, Deanna (James) Evans of Sellersburg, Ind.; grandson, Todd (Julie) Evans of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; granddaughter, Amy (Bryan) Dalton of New Albany, Ind.; along with several great-grandchildren, Erin Evans, Lindsey Dalton, Gavin Dalton and Whitney Dalton, which brought great joy to her late years. Also surviving are a niece, Rita (Jack) Sorenson of Des Plaines; and a nephew, John Towle of Houston, Texas.

The visitation and funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Walter Baker officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at the funeral home.
