From "Looking Back" Sept. 2, 1960: The 12th oak leaf cluster and the Silver Star were a long time coming to Thomas J. Milton, 410 E. Church St. He has been out of the service since 1945. He received a letter stating he was awarded, but never presented, the Silver Star and the 12th oak leaf cluster to his air medal. During World War II, he was a bombardier-navigator on a bomber attached to the Ninth Air Force and he participated in 65 bombing missions.
