James Wilford Noles

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Wilford Noles, 94, a resident of Wabash Christian Retirement Center, Carmi, formerly of Eldorado, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at his residence.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with Dennis Robison and Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery with military rites. Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born in Eldorado on Aug. 18, 1916, to Fred and Winnie (Nelson) Noles. On Oct. 31, 1970, he married the former Oberene Ratley, who survives in Carmi.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of First Christian Church of Eldorado, where he was a very active member. Mr. Noles also lived in the McLeansboro and Lockport areas. He was a past member of the Eldorado American Legion. He was an oil field worker and security guard at Statesville Correctional Center.

In addition to his wife in Carmi, he is survived by four sons, James Lee (Shirley) Noles of South Chicago Heights, Larry Gene (Sandra) Noles of McLeansboro, Alan Ray (Gloria) Noles of McLeansboro and Michael Kent Noles of Stillwater, Okla.; two daughters, Sonia Roe of Junction and Diane Reasons of Spring Hill, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
