Terry Lynn Shepherd
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Terry Lynn Shepherd, 54, of Chapmanville, W.Va., departed this life on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 23, 1956, in Vincennes, Ind., a son of Gayle (King) Shepherd and the late Jim Shepherd.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Helen King and Paul and Ruth Shepherd, all of Oaktown, Ind.
Terry was a retired coal miner from Patriot Coal Company after 33 years of service. He was "Paps" to two beautiful granddaughters, he loved spending time with his golden retriever, Lucy, and was an enthusiastic Marshall University fan.
In addition to his loving wife of 34 years, Mary (Baker) Shepherd of Chapmanville, W.Va., and his mother, those left to cherish his memory include one daughter and her husband, Andrea and John McCune of Gallagher, W.Va.; one son, Joshua Shepherd of Chapmanville, W.Va.; one brother and his wife, Doug and Lisa Shepherd of Greenbelt, Md.; two sisters and their husbands, Pam and Rick Alecci of Harrisburg and Lisa and Randy Mitchell of Naperville; two granddaughters, Greenlee Lynn and Karlee Emily McCune, both of Gallagher, W.Va.; father and mother-in-law, Don and Helen Baker of Harrisburg.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel, 503 E. Sloan St., Harrisburg, Ill. 62946, with Mr. Richard Bosecker officiating. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Harrisburg.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Stilly, Mike Snelling, Rick Alecci, Beth Shepherd, Julia Sargis, James Shepherd, Matthew Alecci, Abby Alecci and Dylan Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers will be his chemo angels, Kelly, Heather and Jess.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville, W.Va.
