Gladys I. Winkelman
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Gladys I. Winkelman, 92, Central City, Ky., passed away at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, at her residence in Central City.
Gladys was born on June 23, 1918, to the late Orval E. and Stella Mae (Dill) Sowers. She married Henry Winkelman on Jan. 16, 1937, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1973. She was a homemaker and a former owner and operator of Henry's Typewriter Shop. Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrier Mills, she was a former Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge, a member of the White Shrine and was former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
Gladys is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Everly and husband Darris of Central City, Ky.; sister, Wanda Holland of Hammond, Ind.; sister, Jean Fleener of Gary, Ind.; three grandchildren, Michael Martin and wife Margaret and David Martin and wife Linda and Lynn Everly; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Charles W. Sowers will officiate. Burial will follow in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Rebekah Rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. by the Harrisburg Rebekah Lodge.
