Guy G. Shelford
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Guy G. Shelford, 98, Harrisburg, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center, surrounded by family members Jesse Shelford, Sammi Mariano and Jeff and Judy Beam.
Guy was born on Jan. 21, 1912, in Williamson County to the late Thomas Henry and Nancy Jane (Boatright) Shelford. He married Dolly Mattingly; she preceded him in death in 1992. Guy was retired from General Motors as a setup technician. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was an avid bingo and shuffleboard player.
Survivors include his brother, Jesse Shelford of Harrisburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolly; sister, Helen Beam; and half-brothers, Joe and John Hanks and Carl, Earl, George and William Shelford; and Harold Mattingly, who was raised like a son.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery with veterans' rites by the Harrisburg American Legion and Carrier Mills VFW.
