William Dale Meyer
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William Dale Meyer, better known as Billy Dale or B.D. to his friends and family, passed away at his residence at 703 Boyd St., Eldorado, at 10 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010. He was 64.
William Dale was born April 12, 1946, in Eldorado to Dale and Mary Catherine Anderson Meyer and raised on his parents' farm in Omaha with his sister, Judy Ann. A graduate of Norris City High School class of 1964, B.D. attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale before he enlisted in the Navy and served as a Sea Bee with Mobile Construction Battalion 128 at Gulfport, Miss. and later at Camp Faulkner in Vietnam.
He married Ruth Ellen Dickerson on Aug. 23, 1971 in Olney.
B.D. is survived by his wife Ruth; his daughter, Jamie (Jerry) Penrod of Eldorado; his daughter, Kim Beechum of Eldorado; and his son, Josh (Kathlene) Meyer of Halls, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Tara) Parks of Westminster, Colo., Joseph (Jennifer) Parks of Crystal Lake, Amber (Steve) Bethel of Eldorado, Zachary (Kristen) Parks of Eldorado, Arielle Parks, Kevin and Andrea Glasscock, all of Eldorado, and Jackson Meyer, of Halls, Tenn.; and great-grandchildren, Sierra and Scarlett Parks, Sophia Parks, Isaac and Will Bethel, and Addison Mae Parks; his sister, Judy Ann (Bill) Smith, of Chatsworth, Calif.; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
B.D. was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Mary Catherine Anderson Meyer; and his brother, Jack.
Visitation for B.D. will be held from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Eldorado with committal service held at Old Cottonwood Cemetery in Omaha. The Rev. Julie Allison will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Eldorado and Hospice of Southern Illinois.
