</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Albert Gidcumb, 85, 2108 First St., Eldorado, died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Ind.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Eldorado to Lawrence and Icy (Rockwell) Gidcumb. On Oct. 22, 1946, he married Florene Gidcumb, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2007.

Upon graduating high school in 1943, he entered the armed services of the Army Air Corps and served until discharge in 1946. He then worked at Federal Wholesale/Scot Lad as a warehouse supervisor until retirement in 1990.

He is survived by a son, Gene (Nora) Gidcumb of Evansville, Ind.; two daughters, Andrea Hancock of Eldorado and Debra (Bob) Wood of Carmi; five grandchildren, Monica (Justin) Spencer, Jason Hancock, Tonya (Elliott) Somers, Heather (Nathan) McGill and Alan Ashworth; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles, Englebert, Rockwell, Eugene, Donald and Elwood; and two sisters, Violet Endicott and Helen Jackson.
