Charles Evans

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Charles Evans, 89, of Galatia, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Thursday June 24, 2010, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Charles was born on April 5, 1921, to Charles and Etta (Burks) Evans. He was married to Gladys (McFarland) Evans on Jan. 25, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Charles worked at the Eloise and Ypsilanti state hospitals in Michigan, retiring from there in the 1970s. He was an Army veteran.

Charles is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; wife, Gladys; a brother, Ted; and seven sisters, Versa, Ollie, Evelyn, Avonell, Mareta, Reba and Fern.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 28 2010, at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation from 10 a.m. to the funeral hour. Dr Harrison Peyton will officiate with burial in the Webber Campground Cemetery.
