Mary Pankey

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Pankey, 85, Carrier Mills, died 7 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at her home.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1924, to Luther and Maggie (Lightner) Gibbs. She married in Clyde Pankey in 1941, and he survives.

She worked at the Bowen Center and the Saline Care Center.

In addition to her husband Clyde, she is survived by a daughter, Connie Cain of Carrier Mills; a son, David (Amy) Pankey of Carrier Mills; four grandchildren, Tim Cain, Antony Cain, Adrienne Rider and Neal Pankey; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. Those attending should gather at the cemetery. Arrangements are in the charge of Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home, Carrier Mills.
