Ella Lenore Wintizer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lenore Wintizer, 91, of the Big Ridge community, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Lenore was born Sept. 27, 1918, to the late Herman and Tessie (Travelstead) Temple. She married the late James W. "J.W." Wintizer on Oct. 30, 1936, and he preceded her in death on June 15, 1998. They had 62 wonderful years together.

In 1936, Lenore joined the Big Ridge Baptist Church, which she served faithfully for over 70 years. During that time she taught Sunday School classes for the children, youth and adult women. She was also a charter member of the Big Ridge Unit of the Saline County Home Extension Association and a long-time member of the Saline County Farm Bureau.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Felton; a brother, Percy Temple; and a sister, Eunice (Temple) Riegel.

She is survived by a daughter, Trudy Schuessler of Harrisburg; three grandchildren,, Brett (Melissa) Felton of St. Peters, Mo., Kali (Darren) Gribble and Michael Schuessler of Harrisburg; three great-granddaughters, Victoria Ann Felton, Olivia Suzanne Gribble and Abigail Elizabeth Gribble; one great-grandson, Drew Kempfer; two sisters-in-law, Sibyl Whitlock and Oleva Winterburger; and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Lenore will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with burial following in Big Ridge Cemetery.
