Ruby Jane Hendrix
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Ruby Jane Hendrix, 89, of Eldorado, passed away at 7:22 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was the widow of Thelon E. Hendrix, who preceded her in death. They were married 63 years.
Ruby was born in Tishomingo, Miss. on Nov. 9, 1920, the daughter of the late Daniel and Cora (Pace) Reynolds.
She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church of Eldorado.
During her earlier life in Mississippi, Ruby worked in Iuka, Miss. at the school cafeteria for nearly 20 years, and in a flower shop for nearly 10 years. Once in Eldorado she worked in the food service department at Good Shepherd Nursing Home prior to her retirement.
Ruby is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Joe) Woodruff of Louisville, Ky. and Alice Beaver of Eldorado; a son, Jack (Vickie) Hendrix of Eldorado; eight grandchildren, Greg Woodruff, Scott Woodruff, Keith Woodruff, Kevin Hendrix, Ginger Cody, Brian Higginbottom, Brandon Hendrix and Brett Hendrix; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eunice Reynolds of Iuka, Miss. and Jewel Puckett of Iuka, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James T. Hendrix; a brother; two half-sisters; and two half-brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010, with the Rev. Dewayne Jolly officiating. Additional funeral services in Iuka, Miss. will be held. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Iuka, Miss.
Visitation is at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.
