William 'Bill' Greenrod

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William "Bill" Greenrod, Sheridan, and Yuma, Ariz., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2010.

Bill was born on April 13, 1927, to Lloyd and Ann Greenrod in Carterville. The family moved to the small coal mining town of Harco where Bill followed his dad into the coal mining job. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He married Helen Futrell on May 17, 1947, in Harrisburg, where they lived until moving to Sheridan in 1950. Bill was employed at the Sheridan School for Boys and later Caterpillar Tractor Co. He retired from Caterpillar in 1985 after 30 years of service.

For the next 25 years, Helen and he split their time between Sheridan and Yuma, where they had many friends in their church and Senior Park where they lived until his death. Bill was a member of Cornerstone Church, Sandwich and co-member of Bible Baptist Church, Yuma.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clayton; and two sisters, Eunice and Mildred (Midge). He is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Terry (Wendy); grandchildren, Krista (Mark) and Travis (Denae) and his precious great-grandchildren, Tyce and Turner, Travis and Denae's children.

Bill's cremains will be interned at the Sheridan Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Sheridan American Legion will conduct the military rites. Memorials are to be made to the Sheridan American Legion.
