Bernie Allen 'Sam' Zarecor
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bernie Allen "Sam" Zarecor, 82, New Burnside, died 12:55 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Fountain View Nursing Home, Eldorado.
He was born July 7, 1927, in Pope County to Bernie Zarecor and Edith Rose Zarecor. He married Felipa M. Cordoba on Dec. 1, 1979.
He was a veteran of two wars and retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years. He was a crane operator for Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling.
He is survived by his wife, Felipa; two sons, Ronald and Joe of Rock Falls; a daughter, Bernita Sue Carr of Harrisburg; two sisters, Edith Raynes of Harrisburg and Betty Osborn of Sheldon; eight grandchildren, James Garcia, Neil and Melanie Carr, Cody, Destiney, Amanda, Miranda and Joey Zarecor; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Walter, Bobbie Lee, Billy Dean, Donald and Ronald; and a sister, Chlola Killman.
Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time at 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Gordon Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bolton-Trammell Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to Bolton-Trammell Cemetery.
