Sammy 'Sam' Meadows Sr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Sammy "Sam" Meadows Sr., 60, Mulkeytown, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with Pastor Sam Higgerson officiating. Burial will be in Zeigler Cemetery. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010, at the funeral home.

He was born June 13, 1949, in Christopher to Henry and the late Rose (Hicks) Meadows of Mulkeytown. On July 28, 1967, he married Janet Burlison.

He was a mechanic at Skaggs Jeep and Auto Service in Eldorado and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Tuscola.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Meadows.

He is survived by three children, Andrea and Kevin Gibbs of Benton, Sam and Samantha Meadows Jr. of Steelville and Timothy Meadows of Christopher; several grandchildren, Brian and Kali Thompson, Marcus Witt, Jessica Witt, Timothy Meadows, Taucha Scott, and Tyler, Tristin, Taylor, Sheldon and Saydee Jo Meadows; a great-grandchild, Isabelle Meadows; a sister, Rosalind and Charles Brandon of Royalton; and two brothers, Randy and Terri Meadows of Sesser and Charles and Deborah Meadows of Mulkeytown.
