Shirley Dean Baker Sternaman Sundahl
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Shirley Dean Baker Sternaman Sundahl, 85, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, Ohio on March 15, 2010. Mrs. Sundahl, formerly of Pontiac, Mich., last resided at Community at Parkvue, and the home of her daughter, Linda Young of Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born Aug. 3, 1924 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late John W. and Bertha (Rister) Baker. She was always very proud to be one of the youngest graduates of Pontiac High School and eventually went on to earn a degree at Oakland University.
Shirley retired from the City of Pontiac. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, a Gold Star Wife, a member of the Pontiac Elks Club Auxiliary and the 94th Infantry Division Auxiliary. She was very well known for her crocheting and English smocking.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Young; and son, Stephen Sundahl of Sandusky, Ohio. She is also survived by six special grandchildren, Denise (Acre) and John Robinson of Collins, Ohio, Julie (Acre) and Dirk Fuller of Muskegon, Mich., Erick and Brooke Acre of Clinton Township, Mich., Jon Sundahl of Sandusky, Ohio, Stephen Sundahl of Fairmont, W. Va. and Leonard and Casey Sundahl of New Creek, W. Va. Also surviving are some "very special, one of a kind" great-grandchildren (as she called them), who will sadly miss their "ole Nana," Blake and Andrew Robinson of Collins, Ohio, Gabriel, Ethan, and Eli Fuller of Muskegon, Mich., Adeline, Ava, and Glenn Acre of Clinton Township, Mich. and Vincent Sundahl of New Creek, W. Va. She is also survived by her brother, J. Julian and Eunice Baker of Tarpon Springs, Fla. and very special nieces who always kept her close in prayer and their hearts, Brenda and John Richardson of Brighton, Mich., Marcia and Todd Bates of West Bloomfield, Mich. and Deanna and David Koehler of Hastings, Neb. Also surviving are numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Sternaman (killed in World War II) and Leonard (Sunny) Sundahl in 1974; by a daughter, Joan S. Sundahl; and a brother in infancy, Norman Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010, in the Chapel at Ottawa Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Mich. There will be no local visitation or service. Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
