James Everett Gibbons Sr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Everett Gibbons Sr., 72, of Golconda passed away Monday, March 15, 2010, at home.

He was born Oct. 18, 1937, in Saline County.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Gibbons of Chesterton, Ind., and Jerry L. Gibbons of Golconda; mother, Ethel Gibbons of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Kristin Marie Crownover, Justin Virgil Gibbons, Colin Devere Gibbons and Mason Thomas Gibbons; cousin, Stanley Reynolds of Belleville; and numerous other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Gibbons.

He was retired from U.S. Steel after 32 years. He was a member of Local 1066 and a Scout Master for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and four wheeler riding.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Funeral service is 11 a.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. The Rev. Harold Miller will conduct the service. Burial will be at Good Hope Cemetery.
