OBITUARY: Eva L. Hancock
Eva L. Hancock, 89 of 512 N. Mill St., Carrier Mills, died 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at Shawnee Rose Care Center in Harrisburg.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation was 11 a.m. until time of the service. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery near Harrisburg. The Rev. David Smith officiated.
She was born in Stonefort to the late Louie and Clara (Brandon) Diefenbach.
She worked as a waitress for many years at Kressge Company in Harrisburg and was also employed for quite some time at Dairy Brand in Harrisburg.
She was a member of Bankston Fork Baptist Church north of Carrier Mills and also a member of the Carrier Mills Rebecca Lodge.
She is survived by a son: Darrell (Jennette) Hancock of Chicago; seven grandchildren: Darren Hancock, Daniel Hancock, Jeff Mumford, Tammy Rabbioni, Jimmy Mumford, Tim Mumford and Elysia Businelle; nine great-grandchildren; brother: Bertis Diefenbach of Benton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Patricia Holifield; five brothers: Norman Diefenbach, Ed Diefenbach, Bill Diefenbach, Walter Diefenbach and Henry Diefenbach; and four sisters: Nina McIntosh, Myrtle Ashway, Louise Woolard and Jennette Clayton.
