OBITUARY: Donald Wade Petty
Donald Wade Petty, 73, resident of Eldorado, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at his residence.
Donald was born Nov. 23, 1941, in Shawneetown, to the late Landis Wilbur and Mary Frances (Barger) Rister. Prior to retirement he worked as a police officer for the City of Mt. Vernon, Ind. He served in the US Navy. He was a Mason and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by a daughter, Robin Dawn Breeze of Centralia; two grandsons, Braden Muller, Jarett Boehne; three sisters, Sandy (Mike) Gwaltney of Eldorado, Judy Petty Poole of Texas, Landa Rister of Eldorado; a sister-in-law, Dorris Petty of West Frankfort; nieces and nephews, Lola Milligan of New York, Rick (Dorothy) Milligan of Texas, Mary Anne Bynum of Eldorado, Noah Donald Horton of Eldorado, Kelly Petty Parker of West Frankfort and David Michael Horton of Eldorado.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Landis and Mary Rister and James Petty; a brother, Mike Petty; a nephew, Michael Petty; a niece, Cassie Gwaltney; and two great-nephews, Logan Parker and Kamdyn Ashby.
Donald was cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Tommy Milligan officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time Saturday.
