Lydia Ann Mitchell

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lydia Ann Mitchell, 98, Galatia, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Galatia.

Lydia was born on July 20, 1911, in Harrisburg to the late Robert and Viola Owen. She married the Rev. Melvin Mitchell and he preceded her in death in January 1977. She was a member of Sloan Street General Baptist Church.

Lydia is survived by one son, Harold Mitchell Sr. of Harrisburg; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lydia was preceded in death by three sons, Fred Mitchell, Kenneth Mitchell and Charles Mitchell; and two grandsons, Kevin Mitchell and Larry Mitchell.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at the Liberty Cemetery in Harrisburg. The Rev. Steve Dunn will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
