Leroy Elder

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Leroy Elder, 68, 611 N. Friend St., Carrier Mills, died 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Stan Irvin and the Rev. Willie Deuel officiating. Burial will be in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born on May 22, 1941, in Carrier Mills to the late Fred and Rosa (Lamunion) Elder. He married the former Bonnie Motsinger on Jan. 6, 1968, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 2002.

He was a retired coal miner and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Leah (Scott) Deuel of Carrier Mills and Lorie (Joey) Kiser of Olive Hill, Ky.; three sisters, Mavis Sturman, Novella Keener and Norma Lindsay, all of Carrier Mills; and two grandchildren, Jalyn Kiser of Olive Hill, Ky. and Beth Deuel of Harrisburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Elder; a brother, Hobert Elder; and his parents.
