Steven Lee Harrison
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Steven Lee Harrison, 54, Mount Vernon, died 3:32 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Crossroads Community Hospital, Mount Vernon.
Services will be held 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon with Jamie Allen officiating. Visitation is 3 p.m. to service time Monday at the church.
He was born on Jan. 9, 1957, in Marion to Carl Harrison and Reba (Orso) Harrison. He married Gina Sanders on March 24, 1979 at Boyd Christian Church in Boyd.
He first worked as a coal miner for Old Ben Coal Co. and currently worked as a special education teacher at Mount Vernon Township High School. He was the freshman girls basketball coach and coached the soccer program at the high school since its inception in 2001. Steve was a member of Central Christian Church.
He is survived by his parents, Carl and Reba Harrison of Herrin; his wife, Gina Harrison of Mount Vernon; three sons, Jeffrey Harrison and wife Emily of Woodlawn, Jason Harrison and fiancee Chelsea Williams of Collinsville and Joel Harrison and girlfriend Rylie Bruce of Mount Vernon; a grandson, Kayden Harrison of Woodlawn; father- and mother-in-law, Melvin and Dessie Sanders of Woodlawn; grandmother-in-law, Mary Strain Adams of Bonnie; and several cousins.
