George William Gott

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[George William Gott, 97, of Galatia, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at his son's residence in Harrisburg.

He was born on Feb. 28, 1912, in Ina to the late James MacDonald and Hattie Faye (Harvey) Gott. On Feb. 12, 1948, he married Stella Pauline "Polly" Emmons, and she preceded him in death on May 24, 1988.

George was a laborer and was retired from Brad Ragan Inc. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the VFW of Eldorado. He attended Black's Chapel Church in Mt. Vernon, Ind.

Surviving family members include a son, Donald R. Emmons and wife Margaret A. of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Ladona and James Davis of Harrisburg, Linda and Chris Orndorff of Galatia, William Emmons of Harrisburg, Paula and Jeff Fulkerson of Harrisburg and Beth and Chris Martin of Harrisburg; nine great-grandchildren: Jennifer Terrell, Melinda Thacker, Justin Fulkerson, Casey Emmons, Destiny Emmons, Montana Martin, Kelcie Martin, Hannah Davis and William Jaydon Emmons; special friend, Agusta Ashworth of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lindale Memorial Gardens in Eldorado.
