Michael E. 'Mike' Fromm
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Michael E. "Mike" Fromm, 55, of Morganfield, Ky., but formerly of Ridgway died suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, as a result of a farm accident.
Mike, as most knew him, was born on June 19, 1954, to Hubert and Sarah (Boulds) Fromm. He graduated from Ridgway High School in 1973 and was a starting player of the 1973 State Championship basketball team in Ridgway. Mike was always smiling and happy and would help anyone in need. He worked for Gibbs Diecasting as an electrician. Mike still loved to farm and could work on or fix anything, whether it be electric, carpentry, plumbing, automotive, anything that needed to be worked on or fixed, he could do that.
On Aug. 25, 1992, he married the former Patty Decker of Morganfield, Ky., who survives. He was a Catholic by faith. Mike was a good husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by the area, but never forgotten.
Mike is survived by his wife, Patty (Decker) Fromm of Morganfield, Ky.; daughter, Chelsey Fromm of Morganfield, Ky., daughter, Amanda Fromm of Charleston; his parents, Hubert and Sarah Fromm of Ridgway; brothers, Bob (Joan) Fromm of Junction, Steve (Kim) Fromm of Equality and Don (Debbie) Fromm of Shawneetown; sisters, Jane (Cletus) Bond of Ridgway, Linda (Ed) Bickett of Ridgway, Sue (Jay) Wathen of Evansville, Ind., Joyce (Roger) Mobley of Ridgway, Carol (Keith) Farris of Ridgway and Lisa (Chris) Berry of Harrisburg; a sister-in-law, Cathy Fromm of Ridgway; and his mother-in-law, Kathleen Decker.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; along with a brother, Mark Fromm; a niece, Sarah Wathen; his father-in-law, Charles Decker; and brother-in-law, Rick Decker.
Visitation for Mike will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway where a prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway with Fr. Tom Barrett officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
