Archie Raymond Dill

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Archie Raymond Dill, 88, Marion, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Archie was born on May 2, 1920, in Harrisburg to the late Archie and Faye (Stewart) Dill. He married Loreda Morris on July 23, 1963, and she survives in Marion.

Archie worked as a baker and chef for the Illinois Department of Corrections and the Mill Race Inn of Geneva. Archie was a World War II Army veteran who served in the European Theater.

Survivors include his wife, Loreda Dill of Marion; sister, Loudene Day of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, E.B., William and Lawrence Dill.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate. Burial will then follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
