Ernest Eugene Sharp

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Ernest Eugene Sharp, 59, of 456 Pickering Road, Harrisburg, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Eugene was born in Uniontown, Ky., on May 13, 1949, the son of the late James and Sadie (Gordon) Sharp.

He was a member of First Apostolic Church of Shawneetown.

He worked as a laborer in the oil fields.

Eugene is survived by a daughter, Betty (Dennis) Smith of Old Shawneetown; and a son, DeWayne Sharp of Old Shawneetown.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Eugene is also survived by three sisters, Isabelle Hurley of Kentucky, Ruby Bolton of Old Shawneetown and Rosemary (Richard) Evans of Junction; and a brother, Robert (Elsie) Sharp of Old Shawneetown.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Sharp and Junior Frank Sharp; and two sisters, Linda Thomas and Lottie Myrtle Sharp.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Friday April 24, 2009, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Burial will be private.
