Evadean Holmes
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Evadean Holmes, 85, of Carrier Mills, died Thursday afternoon, April 23, 2009, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1924, in Harrisburg to the late Hal and Anna Vanbibber Stacey. She was married to Oliver Wendell Holmes on Aug. 13, 1945, and he survives.
She was a devoted member of the Providence Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of the former Comfort Rebekah Lodge No. 48 in Carrier Mills.
Evadean is survived by her husband, Oliver Wendell; two daughters, Linda Fritts and Rosemary (Henry) Cozart, both of Carrier Mills; one son, John (Patty) Holmes of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, James Henry (Teressa) Cozart of Creal Springs and John Patrick Holmes of Harrisburg; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Ridge Cozart of Creal Springs; one brother, Roy Stacey of Hardin County; six nieces; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents; four brothers, William Stacey and Calvin Stacey and two infants; a sister, Lora Elizabeth Stacey, who died at age 12; and a son-in-law, Joe Fritts, who died in 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Jerry Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery, Carrier Mills. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday.
Evadean requested that flowers please be omitted and those that would like to honor her make memorials to the Providence Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
