John Emil Baker
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[John Emil Baker of Ocala, Fla., passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at the Palm Garden Nursing Home in Ocala, Fla.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1915, in Raleigh to John Carlin and Mattie (Watson) Baker. He married the former Vivian Janice Denisan, who survives in Florida.
He graduated from Eldorado High School, the University of Southern Illinois and University of Colorado. He taught school for 35 years. He served the United States Army in World War II. He was a member of the Wolf Creek Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and gardening.
He is survived by two sisters, Laura Burgard of Lake Worth, Fla. and Jewell Johnson of Evansville, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Randel Baker and James Von L Baker; and three sisters, Lillian Moore, Vivian Ferrell and Phaebe Elizabeth Baker.
