Agnes M. Mitchell

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Agnes M. Mitchell, 74, of Carmi, passed away at her home at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009.

She was born June 13, 1934, in Ridgway, the daughter of Harry Aloysius and Magdalena Elizabeth (Koester) Drone. She was married on Sept. 1, 1954, to John F. Mitchell, who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2003.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Carmi.

Agnes is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Richard Stocke of Kansas City, Kan.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Joe and Jema Mitchell of Carmi, Phillip A. and Paula Mitchell and Tim Mitchell of McLeansboro and Ron and Latonya Mitchell of Norris City; a sister and brother-in-law, Pauletta and Phillip Morse of Norris City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Ginny Drone of Ridgway and John and Cindy Drone of Racine, Wis.; three sisters-in-law, Mary Beth Drone of Houston, Texas, Lou Aton of Florida and Dora Howerton of Ridgway; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Jade, Andrew, Caleb, Jared and Hannah Mitchell, Sarah, Jonathan and Nathanael Stocke; and two great-grandchildren, Klayton and Emma Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald "Jake," Ben and James Drone.

Funeral services for Agnes Mitchell, 74, of Carmi, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009, at the Receiving in God Ministries Church at 215 Industrial Ave., Carmi, with Nathan Chitwood officiating. Burial will be in the Enfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the Receiving in God Ministries Church in Carmi from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009, or after noon to service time at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial gifts may be given in Agnes Mitchell's name to the Beacon of Hope Ministries, Jail Ministry or Eagles Nest and may be given at the Campbell Funeral Home.
