Martha Pierson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Martha Pierson, 86, of 502 S. Texas St., Harrisburg, died 6:24 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at Ingram Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Baker officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are in the charge of Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home, Harrisburg.

She was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Harrisburg to Sam and Martha (Purvis) Jones. In 1940, she married Harold E. Pierson, who survives in Harrisburg.

She was Baptist by faith and a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Shiela Lea of Dania, Fla.; two granddaughters, Pam Williams of Hollywood, Fla. and Lisa Pierson of Cooper City, Fla.; a grandson, Jason Pedro of Hollywood, Fla.; and two brothers, Leo "Snake" Jones and Jerome "Romeo" Jones, both of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Sam, John, Richard and James; four sisters, Margaret Shover, Jan Jones, Dolly Farrar and Peggy Lane; and a daughter, Sharon Greco.
