Henry R. Wiseman

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Henry R. Wiseman, 88, of Roxana, died 9:55 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Raleigh to the late Charles and Victoria (Brown) Wiseman. On Aug. 10, 1946, he married Marcella "Hope" Downey in East Alton, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2003.

He is survived by two sons, Frank (Pegeen) Wiseman Sr. of Godfrey and Walter Wade (Debbie) Wiseman Sr. of Virden; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was a veteran of World War II infantry and an advertising sales representative.

Services will be held noon Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Bill Jones and the Rev. Anthony Paulson officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Raleigh. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home and 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Marks Mortuary, Wood River.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Esco, Lynn, Robert, Willard and Ira Wiseman.
